Gratitude

First, to the land. Sweet, elder. I offer my deepest gratitude and reverence to you, acknowledging the ways you transmute, hold, and nourish. A lifetime of gratitude to my homeland, the Northen Andes, specifically the Chibcha and Arhuaco descendent nations whose cultural wisdom sustains and protects the richness of our lands. My heart holds a covenant to a path of rememberance and protection of our ancestral traditions.
And to my second current home, Boston, I offer up a prayer to the Massachusett, Wampanoag, Ponkapoak, Nipmuck, and Black Liberator ancestors and living stewards of this land. May you be offered tangible forms of healing & repair for the violence your lineages have experienced due to colonization.
To the teachers and spiritual traditions that give me roots— with much humiilty, I honor my commitments as a pipe carrier on the Red Road and the way Mexica moondance ceremony has called me back to myself. And to the Dharma— gratitude to the Buddhist wisdom keepers that have poured healing onto me and significantly shifted the course of my life.
And lastly, to my people— my mother, my brother, my lovers and friends— thank you for being living breathing examples of what is possible when we walk in love and integrity.
